good read, what would we expect from HTGN...

First of all I hope you see the irony in you making HTGN and General look like the devil while you continue to play in their league. "What better way to spite them than win their prizes" is a terrible excuse. By playing in their league the only thing you accomplish is supporting the league's ongoing existence. Secondly and less importantly, the reason we don't do vid/shoutcasts is not because we are scared of people seeing our strats, it is because there is no benefit to us by having them done (obviously pA was an exception to that and the benefit you can see for yourselves). Maybe you will prove me wrong and drop the league; but I'm sure that won't be happening.

The only reason we didn't drop the league osi was because we already were 1/2 of the way thru. We won't be participating in it next season.

Hey madd you forgot to mention how GeNeRaL asked ovk, who were eliminated by oR to come back and take oR's place because they got banned for not wanting a video cast. We just loled and quit then and there.

I would have included ki's case, if I had not mentally dropped the whole article a month ago.

I just want to say that for getting third in the all out war tournament, i9 and myself each got 2 tshits, stickers, a pen (not a laser pointer), and a DEMO COPY of FEAR. THEY SAY ITS THE GAME AND GIVE OUT THE DEMO ON A CD, good fucking grief I felt robbed.
Posted by: France^ | September 02nd, 2006 at 3:39 PM UTC

we palyed in one of its first ladders XD and htgn handled the hole situation terribly bending rules saying everone has to have full guide not 8 number guides or the team gets thrown out we found this to be the case but they sed ah no its ok to play with them they set a deadline to join the roster but then was happy to let some1 play after the deadline they had no control over the tourny they changed the rules every other second they got us to write pages of reports with ridiculus amounts of info and screenshots which was never really used to solve the problem and just messed around constantly until the match was replayed they let neither side say what they wanted to in the forums and threatend to band any who replyed in our thread they kept deleting the threads that we were discussing this on and blamed it on the site being new this happend 2 times the list goes on .... :(

First let me start by introducing myself. I am Blaine Lippe the former Chief Operations Officer for eSportsTV and one of the first and best players in America's Army. I know this community very well and have played this game far longer than most of you being that I was one of the original members of ST-6 who started the AA community years ago.

As for eSportsTV when we were doing the AA casting, it was shotty at best due to AA being first a free game that has little to know potential for video casting effectively. I heard complaints all the time in reference to pre-recording so gamers couldn't cheat or the settings weren't correct. Have any of you had experience with video casting matches? I doubt it and it was our first time working with AA from a casting stand point, for that I appologize but the biggest issue is all the crying I hear and complaints about the gaming community (HTGN, TWL, EGLN and eSportsTV) who make it possible for you to do more than simply play a video game. We aren't paid for what we do, we do it for the community and we can't please everyone. Also AA is a free game developed by inexpensive game developers contracted by the US Army. I know quite a bit about the Army since I have been in for over 10 years and I know the Army goes with the cheapest labor they can find, even to design a "FREE" video game. So if you guys feel it so important to cry about a free game, cry to those who developed it and ask for better features that allow for video casting and a better spectator mode. I have been pushing them to do it for years but it is the Army and I assure you, they could care less about you. They simply want recruitment numbers, that is why the game was designed in the first place as I was one of the individuals who demonstrated it at the Pentagon years ago.

My point being, don't blame those who try to help the communtiy by offering more activities and services, regardless of how bad you think those services are because we also work for free and aren't perfect.

The AA community should be the last to whine about anything, again it is a FREE GAME!
